"If we don't raise more funds now, NAHJ will have to cease operations and stop all programs for the rest of the year," writes Ricardo in a letter sent to members today. He also mentions that NAHJ has recently announced furloughs for its entire staff.

$300,000 shorfall threatens to shut down NAHJ
The gravity of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists's current financial woes has forced its president, Ricardo Pimentel, to send a fundraising plea to its members. NAHJ has raised $75,000, but that's not enough to keep the organization running. It needs to come up with another $225,000 before the end of the year.
